Daemi intimidates Liquid a lot. He’s slowly getting used to her, but she still scares him a little.

He thinks she’s very brave, though.

Octopus….well.

He’d been there when Liquid was given command of FOXHOUND, and he hadn’t really known how to deal with the man’s friendliness and cheer and openness - he wasn’t used to dealing with anyone like him. He got used to it, though, and he cared about Octopus like he did the rest of the team - a little bit more so, maybe, because of Octopus’…undercover work. The completeness of the disguise and the danger of him being trapped in the identity scared the shit out of Liquid, due to its similarities to his time brainwashed in Iraq. So he took that little bit extra care of Octopus.

Meeting him again here was…difficult. Mantis’ annoyance was easy to deal with, but Octopus’ relief and happiness to see him was almost painful. He managed to deal with it, of course, but knowing Octopus cared like that was hard. But it made him the first choice to go to when he remembered.

Octopus is almost kind of like a weird parental figure to him. Octopus knows a lot more than he does about basic real-world things, and he’s helped him adjust quite a lot. He really appreciates and cares about Octopus - he’s practically family, too.

Mantis is probably Liquid’s best friend.

During their years in FOXHOUND together, Liquid respected Mantis and really appreciated him for his presence on the team. He was really glad he’d been able to convince Mantis to join, and the man’s psychic powers inspired almost childlike awe in him. He took care of him like he took care of the rest of his team.

Now, though, remembering how he neglected them during Shadow Moses, and knowing THIS Mantis, spending time with him and learning more about him than he ever did before…it’s changed something.

He considers Mantis more then just a colleague, he considers him his best friend and practically family. FOXHOUND’s been through so much together, and that plus his experiences here on Tumblr have made him closer to his team - or what’s left of them.

In short he really cares about Mantis and bla bla feels.

Liquid doesn’t really like Solidus much.

He doesn’t appreciate the child soldier thing in the least, having basically been one himself - because of the Patriots. So knowing Solidus helped make more (ESPECIALLY Raiden, who Liquid sees a lot of himself in) doesn’t exactly endear him to the man.

Hurting REX’s feeling didn’t help matters, because, again, Liquid sees himself in REX, and it struck a nerve.

There IS the chance Liquid might warm up to him eventually, but it’s a chance.

Liquid likes Rynn for being there for his brother. She’s good to him.

But otherwise he’s sliiiiightly intimidated by her, and doesn’t quite know what to make of her - he’s not used to her….forwardness.

But he’s getting accustomed to it, and she’s really nice besides.

Liquid loves his mom. Really, really loves her. He never even considered the fact that he had a mom until he met her - the people who raised him never once mentioned anything about a mother, and he was half-sure that he was a test tube baby or something.

But now he knows his mom and he loves her so much for loving him and being kind and being there - even if it is a little late, that’s better than never.

He does tend to bristle a bit (understatement) when anyone insults or threatens her, and he nearly attacked the screen several tines watching the Snake Eater VR because of Volgin.

Liquid…doesn’t know what to think about the other Mantis.

On the one hand, this is the Mantis he was used to, but…

Knowing his Mantis changed a lot, so seeing this one freaked him out a bit.

He’s going to treat this Mantis exactly like he always did, though. Respectfully and like a colleague (and now friend).

Liquid has a lot of feelings about REX. He was initially really terrified of the idea that the giant robot he piloted to blow shit up and stomp Grey Fox and attempt to stomp his brother was sentient. It…wasn’t a pleasant thought to him. At all. So he avoided REX until he couldn’t.

Now that he’s gotten to know REX, he sees they have a lot in common. It’s weird, but…they do. He likes REX a bit now, even if his knee-jerk reaction to him is Shadow Moses flashbacks.

Raven is Liquid’s teammate and colleague and now friend. He has a hell of a lot of respect for Raven, for both his intelligence and strength. He’s still working on the ‘shaman magic’ thing, but all things considered…yeah. He’s really thankful Raven survived, and he’s still kinda guilty about what happened to him in the first place.
